Great question. Definitely worth thinking about. We know that beyond a certain level of income people do not report being any happier both at home and at work. And we know that feeling prosperous is a relative feeling. If you perceive that people around you have roughly the same income you feel fairly content. Suggests to me that people will be well in both ways in an egalitarian society where wealth and justice are equally distributed. Entrepreneurship tends to break down close-knit communities, while too much community spirit dampens enterprise. Middle way would be my guess.

I’m curious if there can be societal well being without economic well being? What do you think?
